MAJOR TAYLOR STATUE DEDICATION

Worcester Public Library

Worcester, Mass.
Celebrate Worcester's first public monument to an African-American, the 1899 world cycling champion known as "the Worcester Whirlwind." Special guests include modern-day legends of cycling, plus our honorary national chairman, Edwin Moses (Olympic gold medalist in the 400-meter hurdles).
In addition to the noontime dedication ceremony, we'll have a morning bike ride and an evening panel discussion with noted scholars, historians, and writers on race, sports, and Major Taylor's legacy. Event details to come at
